Cliniko
Pick Cliniko if you have 2 to 5 or 9 to 12 practitioners, where its tiers make the per head cost low, and your caseload is mainly private, Medicare and DVA.
splose
Pick splose if a large share of your work is NDIS and you want bulk upload files and funding tracking built in, or you are a solo or 2 practitioner clinic.

Declared bias and what this page is for
FFP Digital builds websites and online booking and tracking setups for physio and allied health clinics. We work with whichever practice software a clinic already runs and we are not a reseller for either Cliniko or splose, so neither vendor pays us for this page. We have priced both from their own published rules and shown the arithmetic so you can redo it for your headcount.
Two different pricing models
Cliniko uses tiers by practitioner count: US$45 for 1 practitioner, US$95 for 2 to 5, US$145 for 6 to 8, US$195 for 9 to 12, US$295 for 13 to 25 and US$395 for 26 to 200. Every feature is included, admin and reception users are unlimited, and the only meter is SMS at 10 cents a message. Paying annually gives one month free each year. Prices are published in US dollars, so the Australian dollar cost moves with the exchange rate, and your bank may add an international transaction fee.
splose charges per practitioner: $30 a month on monthly billing or $27 a month on annual billing, in AUD excluding GST, with non practitioner roles free. From 1 November 2026 those become $36 monthly and $32 annual for new and existing Australian customers. A monthly customer who switches to annual before 1 November locks in $27 for 12 months.
The tier model is why Cliniko gets cheaper per head as you grow inside a band. Five practitioners on Cliniko pay the same US$95 as two. On splose each extra practitioner adds the same amount, so a 2 practitioner clinic pays far less than a 5 practitioner one.
Where the real difference is: NDIS and funding
If a large share of your caseload is NDIS, the feature gap matters more than the price. splose builds a Bulk Payment Request file you upload to the NDIS myplace portal, and tracks each participant's funding through cases with utilisation and plan expiry reminders. Cliniko's NDIS help covers setting up billable items with NDIS item codes, tax inclusive invoices and decimal hours, but its NDIS setup article does not describe a bulk upload file or plan budget tracking.
For Medicare, DVA and health fund claims both tools rely on Tyro Health. The claiming experience is similar because the same partner does the work.
What stays the same whichever you pick
Both store Australian clinics' data in Australia on AWS, both include telehealth and online bookings, both integrate with Xero, and both offer an API. The online booking page is also the piece that connects to your website, and it is where most clinics lose track of which ads and pages actually produce bookings. Whichever tool you choose, test the booking flow on a phone and confirm you can see a completed booking in your analytics before you spend on ads.

Switching between them
Patient details, appointments and billable items can move by CSV or through the new vendor's import help. Ask each vendor how treatment notes come across before you commit. Reconnect Tyro Health and Xero, and rebuild your online booking embed on the website before switching off the old account.
